Aberdeen Drilling School has been at the forefront of reducing stuck pipe incidents since the 1980s, having worked in partnership with numerous IOCs and NOCs globally to reduce this, greatest cause of non-productive rig time. Our training courses range from advanced simulator-based stuck pipe prevention training which can be customised to address well-specific issues; through to modular stuck pipe and fishing training that can be delivered to crews on the rig.
Recognising and avoiding potential stuck pipe issues through extensive use of practical simulation has been shown to significantly reduce NPD. Aberdeen Drilling School’s operational stuck pipe prevention training makes full use of drilling simulators and a library of real life case studies. This engaging and interactive training format, delivered in our training centres on large drilling simulators has been shown to enhance teamwork and problem-solving skills by encouraging participants to recognise early indications of a potential stuck pipe incident and work together to provide solutions for a range of simulated scenarios with real time diagnostics.
