Steel U-Pins are the primary fixing method for grass protection mesh and turf protection mesh. The steel u-pins, in a ribbed design, are tough enough to be banged into most soil types, and hold the plastic mesh reinforcement tight to the existing grass. U-pins allow the fixing to straddle a few mesh apertures producing a strong and robust fix to the ground. Steel u-pins can also be used with weed control fabrics and at the base of metal or plastic fencing to stop animals burrowing under the base of the fence. Steel u-pins are installed using a club hammer.
