Russetts Developments were contracted to repair a leaking pond which formed part of a lake that flowed into two water features located in the Botanic Gardens at the University of Bristol.
Part of the lake included a pond for aquatic and bog plants. The pond was an awkward shape being narrow and shallow with sloping sides. The existing concrete structure had cracked and the pond was leaking and was therefore in need of re-lining. Russetts achieved this by first lining the pond with a 400g/m2 geotextile protective underlay to protect the liner during and after installation.
A chase was cut into the concrete 200mm from the edge and below the water line. Metal flashing strips were riveted on and the membrane was attached to them.
Flagon GeoP 1.2mm TPO membrane was cut and shaped on site to custom-fit the shape of the pond.
