Challenge
Clacton-on-Sea on the Tendring Peninsula relies heavily on visitors boosting trade coming in to the town. As part of an on-going improvements programme better signage for pedestrians was flagged up as key. Not only would this boost tourist trade, but it was also felt it would improve the overall visitor experience.
The project brief from Tendring District Council specified the design and manufacture of a pedestrian wayfinding system that would be easily interpreted.
Requirements:
Contemporary style
Easy update and interchange of information
Provision of clear information
Built in-line with DDA and Access Rights guidelines
Highly durable and vandal resistant
Solution
Fitzpatrick Woolmer supplied Tendring District Council with nine dCipher™ wayfinding units.
dCipher™ units incorporate brushed stainless steel fascias for a contemporary, urban feel. They include an easy-to-use map system, tamper resistant fixings, and an interchangeable slat and panel system.
Benefits
Positioned at key locations around the town dCipher™ has improved visitor orientation and people flow around the town.
