11 June 2007 11/6/07 - ENADA IN ROME - Games are back at the Fiera
ENADA ROME, the 35th edition of SAPAR’s International Amusement & Gaming Machine Show, organized by Rimini Fiera, will be held from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th October. There are great expectations for the 2007 event, as it will be the first to be staged in the Italian capital’s new leading edge expo centre, located in Via Portuense, on the main road to Fiumicino.
After last year’s great success (the 2006 edition was attended by 9,217 visitors: a 3.4% increase on 2005; and no less than 200 exhibiting firms occupied 20,000 m2 of expo space), ENADA ROME is back in the spotlight as the exhibition able to involve the entire game and gaming market, from amusement machines through those with cash prizes to all the companies playing key roles in the new systems for on-line communication.
The expo’s product manager Gabriella Zoni explained, “Our aim is to continue the expansion trend featured over the last two years, which also found further reasons for optimism in the spring edition of ENADA, held in Rimini. We shall therefore continue to work on increasing the show’s international profile, as far as both exhibitors and visitors are concerned.
Precisely regarding this aspect, I’d like to stress the success of the ENADA Pavilion at the GTI EXPO in Taiwan, which enabled us to accredit our show as a truly key expo for the game and gaming sector in Europe. Lastly, I would like to emphasize the extremely positive relationship we have with Fiera di Roma.
Many companies have already sent in their registration for the show and therefore there are all the necessary conditions for an edition of ENADA ROME with even better results than 2006.”
On the expo front, ENADA ROME will occupy Halls 3 and 4 of the Eternal City's new Expo Centre (East entrance), but, due to the number of registrations already received, the technical staff is already at work organizing the possible occupation of Hall 2 as well. Also worthy of mention is a shuttle service that will transport visitors directly from the expo centre’s railway station to the venue’s East entrance in Via Portuense, a facility that will greatly facilitate arrival at the show.

24 May 2007 24/5/07 - Gauselmann Group: Innovation and Technology Leader Celebrates Proud Anniversary
When young Paul Gauselmann started installing machines as a self-employed sideline in June 1957, probably nobody including himself would have thought that 50 years later the one-man show would have developed into today’s global player – the Gauselmann Group – owing to Westphalian characteristics such as hard work, courage, persistence, entrepreneurial far-sightedness, an eye for the essential, and the grain of luck necessary for everything. Just in time for the anniversary year the group succeeded in generating consolidated revenues of EUR 1.007 billion thus “cracking” the one billion line.
The extraordinary development from a one-man business into an international group with 5,500 employees worldwide is an almost unrivalled German success story, especially considering that the rise of the business did not take place in the post-war era but only in the 1970s and 1980s. The same applies to the many decades of exemplary social, cultural, and athletics sponsorship of the Gauselmann family based on an entrepreneurial sense of responsibility and voluntary commitment.

The company has been making an impact in the region with its casino gaming printer products and services since inauguarating the Macau operation in October 2006. By combining local service strategies with a global suppport infrastructure, the company is able to provide a rapid response to OEM and casino requests for new product development, as well as changes in firmware, ticket design, language, graphics and other peripheral functionality.
The Macau operation is headed by Daniel Turner, a 12-year veteran of system, peripheral and gaming industry sales. Dan earned a Physics Degree from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK. He spent eight years with IBM in their Mid Market Sales Division, and opened IBM's direct sales office in Beijing, China. In 2004 he joined the gaming industry, initially with Endx, now part of Progressive Gaming and later with Money Controls as Sales Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Since joining us in October of last year, Dan has become a key member of FutureLogic's International Team,” said John Edmunds, General Manager of Europe, Africa and Asia and VP of International Sales. “His enthusiasm, technical expertise and knowledge of the region have already helped him establish FutureLogic as the dominant thermal printer for TITO applications in casinos in Macau and across Asia."
FutureLogic developed and launched its first TITO printer in collaboration with IGT designers for the introduction of EZ Pay™ in 1999, and proudly maintains its status as default printer supplier for IGT worldwide. The company will exhibit their new GEN2 Universal™ printers and the ProMatrix™ coupon solution at G2E Asia (stand 314), to be held in Macau on June 13-14.
