17/5/06 - Game Machines@Net: a new market has opened
The 1st edition of the Game Machines@Net exhibition, held in Athens, Greece, from March 31st to April 2nd 2006, has successfully concluded, leaving visitors and exhibitors with the best of impressions.
The show, which was held at the EKEP expo centre, was inaugurated by the President of the LA.OS party, Mr. George Karatzaferis. During his speech, Mr. Karatzaferis pointed out the fact that the amusement field can become an important part of the Greek economy by endorsing new technology and offering new business opportunities. In addition, the President of LA.OS, mentioned that the current legal framework is inefficient, noting that knowledge games should be funded by the State and not banned!
As far as the exhibitors are concerned, the participation exceeded all expectations! More than 30 companies from Greece and abroad, chose Game Machines@Net expo to display their latest achievements and ideas in the entertainment market. Amongst the exhibits were: electronic games, computer games, computers, electronic accessories, software, vending machines, casino equipment, billiards, amusement park equipment, bowling, soccer, amusement area construction-decoration-equipment, accessories, spare parts and security systems.
The show also attracted more than 3.000 visitors (all professionals), who had the opportunity to feast their eyes on all the latest products in the amusement field. Among them were representatives of the biggest companies in the area of amusement, who visited the show and expressed their support towards the Greek sector of electronic games, noting the potential that the latter has.
In general, both exhibitors and visitors expressed their satisfaction about the level of products and services, making the 2006 Game Machines@Net expo the beginning of numerous business agreements.
The success of the exhibition, which managed to open up the Greek market led the amusement industry to the renewal of their assembly at the next Game Machines@Net expo.
As far as the next game machines @ net expo it is not confirm yet the final date. The exhibitors will choose between 17 December 2006 or 20 April 2007.
