LASER TRACKBALL UNITS – 9 versions
NSI presents a whole new range of industrial laser trackballs, the “TSX50 series”. This serie is IP68 waterproof and uses the latest generation of laser trackballs.
They feature a 50 mm ball with removable top ring facilitating the cleaning, decontamination, sterilisation and maintenance - ensuring continued optimum performance and operation under the harshest of conditions. The use of stainless steel for the various parts ensures the best resistance in salty or greasy environments.
Due to its outstanding sealing, its professional style and its industrial robustness, these trackball units are the best suited pointing device for all harsh or hostile environments, indoor and outdoor.
The TSX50 serie is available in 9 different versions. You can choose for a panel mounting version with studs or with holes (for countersunk M4 screw) or for an enclosed version. All panel mount versions are supplied with a silicone sponge seal for adequate sealing into the customers' panel or console. A cover plate on the rear side protects the components. There is a choice in IP65 pushbutton or IP68 short travel switches. Furtheron you can choose for a blank or black painted carrier plate.
Fields of applications are very wide : public access- and information kiosks, internet- and entertainment terminals, navigation controls, food industry, processing industries and many others.
This serie is directly plug & play compatible to PS/2 or USB ports and is very easy to mount.
As for all NSI’s products, this serie doesn’t require any specific drivers.

EcoMundo keyboard with laser trackball
NSI presents the latest addition to its extensive range of industrial keyboards : the “EcoMundo” keyboard. “Eco” stands for low power, long life, sustainable materials and for an economical design with best performance/cost ratio. “Mundo” as the new keyboard concept and its specifications make it applicable world-wide.
The full MF (multi-functional) keyboard has separate numeric-, cursor- and control keypads. The dome-type membrane with tactile feel and the integrated IP68 laser trackball form a completely waterproof unit. The 25mm laser trackball features the highest precision in cursor control, the ball itself being removable for ease of maintenance, even in dusty environments.
The “EcoMundo” industrial keyboard is available as desktop version or as panel mount version. The desktop version uses a compact ABS enclosure and fits into 19” rack drawers of 1HU or can be used as a stand-alone unit. The panel mount version is supplied with a silicone sponge seal for adequate waterproof sealing into the customers’ panel or cabinet.
Colour schemes and legend styling fit with the most recent industrial computer equipment.
The keyboard and trackball output signal are combined into one single USB cable, no special driver is needed.

LASER TRACKBALLMODULES : THE “X-RANGE”
NSI introduces the latest generation of waterproof contact-less trackballs, their Laser Range.
Utilising the very latest in solid state sensing technology, the Laser Series offers all the benefits of the well established Optical trackball devices with the added advantages of an increased flexibility and an improved tracking performance on a wide range of ball surfaces. Other added advantages are increased resolution options and a reduced power consumption.
The laser tracking engine provides accurate cursor motion at all speeds and on virtually any ball, combining the benefits of solid state sensing (no moving parts except the ball).
The trackball design incorporates a removable top ring as standard to allow for easy cleaning, decontamination, sterilisation and maintenance - ensuring continued optimum performance and operation under the harshest of conditions.
This laser trackball range is available with a variety of electrical outputs and sealing to IP68 and has been designed to be back of panel mounted.
The “X-range” is the name of this large range of laser trackballs which are available in 13mm (type X13), 19mm (X19), 25mm (X25), 38mm (X38) and 50 mm (X50) ball sizes.
The outputs are Quadrature or PS/2 & USB.

Handheld Keyboard Series
NSI has completed its new range of industrial handheld keyboards. This serie of six membrane keyboards are available with or without pointing device.
The membrane is from a hardened polyester, resistant to liquids, oils, most acids and to scratches.
All versions are sealed IP65 and available as panel mount version or housed in a very stylish and robust ABS housing. Ideal for applications requiring only a limited number of key functions with fast and comfortable key access.
The keyboards with pointing device have 26 keys and an integrated trackball or joystick.
Types KBMT26x have an integrated 38mm laser optical trackball with a removable ball; the trackball optical lenses are accessible from the front and can easily be cleaned without dismantling the complete unit.
Types KBTS26x have an integrated solid state Hall effect joystick which we call a “Thumbstick” (this name describes its functionality better).
The keyboards have numeric and function keys; the control keys are available via “Fn” key mapping.
The keyboards without pointer, types KBM36x, have 36 keys which enable all major functions of a large MF keyboard in a small outline. Function keys F1 to F16 and complete upper and lower case alphabet are available. Distinct and easy recognition of the different functions due to three different legend colours corresponding with the mode-keys: black for UNSHIFT; red for SHIFT and green for ALPHA mode which is a toggle function indicated by a seperate green LED.
All versions have a PS/2 or USB output connection.

Duralight LED Backlit Keyboard & Trackball
NSI presents a 106 key backlit “Duralight” keyboard.
The keyboard has a multi-functional layout with separate numerical- and control keys pads and integrates a large 50mm industrial trackball.
The unit uses high brightness white LED's and fibre optics, lighting not just the key legends, but also the key edges, the trackball contour and even possible customer logo's or trademarks.
Using low power LED's warrants for a long life while an external power supply is not necessary; the power from the keyboard port being sufficient. The illumination intensity is easily controlable by two dedicated UP and DOWN keys. This illumination setting is stored at power off. Furtheron it features an intelligent luminosity setting of the “numlock” and “capslock” LEDS depending on ambient light and key brightness setting. The keyboard uses short travel switches with low pressure and positive tactile feedback.
The industry proven 50 mm trackball provides a comfortable and accurate control over the cursor.
The KSML106-LED has an IP65 sealing grade and is available as front panel mount version or as enclosed version and has a PS/2 or USB compatible output both for keyboard and trackball.
Typical applications include naval navigation control, aeronautics controls, studio or theater equipment, … and any other applications in low light environments.
