Registration Now Open for Charity Events Benefiting Give Kids The World Village

26/06/19

IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, today announced registration is now open for the 17th Annual IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament, IAAPA Footprints From the Heart 5K Run/1 Mile Walk, and the 10th Annual Motorcycle Ride Benefiting Give Kids The World Village. The annual events take place during IAAPA Expo 2019 (formerly IAAPA Attractions Expo) and raise funds for Give Kids The World (GKTW) Village — an 84-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with critical illnesses and their families from around the world.

This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the IAAPA and Give Kids The World Village partnership. As a long-standing partner since 1994, the association has supported the IAAPA World Passport for Kids, a program that provides complimentary admission to participating IAAPA-member facilities for GKTW wish children and their immediate families. In addition, IAAPA and its members have donated more than $1 million benefitting GKTW since that time.

New location: IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament

This year, the golf tournament will be held at Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, Nov. 17. Conveniently located just minutes away from the Orange County Convention Center, this championship, 18-hole, par-72 course is located on-site at the AAA Four Diamond Rosen Shingle Creek. Designed by the Arnold Palmer Design Company, the course features first-class amenities, an elaborate clubhouse, and 7,213 yards of golf.

The 18-hole scramble starts at 8 a.m. The $200 registration fee includes golf cart, breakfast, and lunch. Golf club rentals will be available for $53 each. The registration deadline for individuals, pairs, threesomes, or foursomes is Tuesday, Nov. 12. Participants are encouraged to register early as the event is expected to sell out weeks in advance.

IAAPA Footprints From the Heart 5K Run/1 Mile Walk Benefiting Give Kids The World Village

The IAAPA 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk — "Footprints From the Heart" — takes place Thursday, Nov. 21 at GKTW Village in Kissimmee, Florida. Participants are encouraged to register in advance, so they may create a personal fundraising page online to share with family and friends to raise additional donations ahead of Expo. Fundraising prizes will be awarded to the top individual fundraiser and top team fundraiser.

  • Teams of five or more can register at a minimum donation of $30 per person
  • Individuals can register for a minimum donation of $35 per person
  • For those who are unable to participate in person, the online virtual runner program allows anyone to also create a fundraising page to help raise money in support of the event

To register online, visit http://support.gktw.org/IAAPA5K. Advance registration is open online until Tuesday, Nov. 19 and on-site at Expo at the GKTW Booth #4233 until 6 p.m. on Nov. 20. Runners can also register in-person the morning of the event.

IAAPA Motorcycle Ride

The 10th Annual IAAPA Motorcycle Ride will take place Sunday, Nov. 17 at Orlando Harley-Davidson/Eagle Rider. Cost is $100 for each driver and each passenger. Motorcycle rental is $120 through Eagle Rider. Tickets should be purchased in advance, as space is limited and may sell out.
