The Specialist Buyers Guide for the Theme Park Industry
MZM, Bamboo, Belga Films, Belga Films Fund Holding and Wallimage Entreprises join forces with founders Caroline van Iseghem, Ben Stassen and Eric Dillens to develop the nWave animation studios.
nWave Studios – Created in Brussels in 1994 by Caroline van Iseghem, Ben Stassen and Eric Dillens, nWave studio has established itself as a key international player in the production & distribution of state-of-the-art stereoscopic content (3D). First specialized in short formats for giant screens, amusement parks and simulators, nWave has diversified since 2006 in animated 3D features for an international family audience. Fly me to the Moon, Sammy, Sammy 2, The House of Magic, Robinson Crusoe, The Son of Bigfoot, all directed or co-directed by Ben Stassen, have racked up more than 300 M$ at the worldwide box office. From 2008 to 2017, nWave Studios was linked to Studiocanal. In 2017, the three historical founders regained their independence, whilst launching the production of their latest feature film The Queen’s Corgi, directed by Ben Stassen and Vincent Kesteloot, which will be released theatrically worldwide in the Spring 2019.
Today, the three founders have chosen to partner with a pool of partners led by Matthieu Zeller, who will become the President of nWave Studios. MZM was founded in 2016 by Matthieu Zeller: the company gathers the production labels Octopolis and Bamboo Film, dedicated to the production and co-production of French and International fiction. Olivier Sulpice is, since 2018, the other reference shareholder besides Matthieu Zeller. Matthieu Gondinet, after 15 years experience with Canal +, Studiocanal and Vivendi, joined MZM in September 2018 as a partner. Matthieu Zeller and Matthieu Gondinet have collaborated with nWave and its teams over the past years.
Caroline van Iseghem, Ben Stassen, Eric Dillens (founders of nWave): « We are very happy to continue the nWave adventure with historical partners of the studio, with whom we have this long experience. This partnership will enable us to continue and develop the studio’s activity, to produce more and more ambitious content. »
Matthieu Zeller (MZM): "nWave, its founders and teams, are an amazing European jewel.
