Airquick, established in 1974, was primarily based on a distributorship for Atlas Copco, the international compressed air equipment manufacturer, and operated from it's base in Newark, across the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
Early contracts included the installation of a large compressed air system and the commissioning of three 800 cfm compressors at Ruston Gas Turbines Lincoln. This was followed by an interesting compressed air system installed in a 400 ft romney building at Hessle, North Humberside, designed to shotblast and paint sections of the Humber Bridge during its construction - from this point on there was no looking back.
In 1977 Airquick began working with British Rail in York and had an unbroken string of contracts installing air compressors and associated equipment into Eastern Region Depots and sites for over five years - in which period all of the time served equipment had been replaced. Subsequent work with the railways diversified into the supply of chemical pumping rigs, controlled emission toilet facilities, platform bowsers culminating in our first in-house designed, installed and commissioned train wash plant for London Underground at their Northumberland Park Depot in 1995.
