TMR 3WIR and TMR 6WIR Series - DC/DC converter

World smallest certified 6 Watt SIP8 DC/DC converter for railway applications

The TMR 3WIR and the TMR 6WIR  series are a set of 3/6 Watt DC/DC converters in a SIP-8 metal case. The design purpose of these series was to miniaturized low power DC/DC converters for railway application to the maximum without sacrifing highest efficency. They operate up to 78°C environment temperature at full load and up to 90°C with a 50% load derating. 

With EN 50155 and UL 60950-1 certification, 3'000 VDC I/O-isolation voltage, external On/Off, current limitation and short current protection they cover a wide range of application when space is limited. 

The input of the converters is designed for a wide voltage range (4:1) and minimum load is not required

THN15WIR series - DC/DC converter

The THN 15WIR series is a family of rugged sized 15 Watt DC/DC converters for highest reliability in harsh environments. The converters have an increased resistance against electromagnetic interference, shock/vibration and thermal shock. The approvals according to standards EN 50155 and EN 61373 qualify them for railway and transportation systems.

With extra wide input voltage ranges of 9-36, 18-75 and 36-160 VDC, the nominal input voltages of 24, 48, 72, 96 and 110V DC are covered while a ±40% deviation (transients) from nominal does not affect the function. With a 1” x 1” package and an I/O isolation of 3000 VDC they are very compact. The efficiency of about 90% enables an operating temperature range of -40°C to 75 °C at full load or up to 90°C with 50% load derating.

The qualification for the fire behaviour of components according to EN 45545-2 and the safety approval according IEC/EN 60950-1, UL60950-1 support a potential compliance test of the application. Built-in EMI 55022 class A filter, input under-voltage-lockout, short circuit protection, remote On/Off and output voltage trim are further features which facilitate the design in.

Main upgrades for railway capability: - Increased EMC immunity against surge, burst, radiated and conducted disturbances - Input voltage ranges cover the nominal 24, 36, 72 and 110 VDC with ±40 % tolerance - Shock and vibration / thermal shock in accordance to EN61373 and MIL-STD-810F
