Diesel Fuel Sampling and Testing

Turner EPS service engineers can undertake routine Diesel Fuel Sampling and Testing during the course of a normal service visit. Our service vehicles are kitted out with the latest fuel testing kits that permit us to provide you with ‘tank side’ sampling and testing to identify potential fuel issues quickly and accurately on site.

Other tank side sampling and testing equipment is available from Turner EPS includes a variety of fuel tank sampling devices, water detection products and portable particle counting meters.

Fuel Tank Cleaning and Fuel Conditioning

Turner EPS provide a comprehensive range of planned and reactive maintenance services for standby and emergency power generation equipment. Our tailor made maintenance solutions ensure that your investment is kept in prime condition and ready to power up whenever it’s needed. These solutions include; scheduled maintenance, 24 hour emergency call out, generator hire, load bank testing and, diesel fuel sampling, testing, contamination removal and fuel polishing and fuel tank cleaning and fuel conditioning.

Your standby and or emergency generator relies on having pure, clean diesel fuel for efficient and reliable running. The ultra fine tolerances and high fuel injection pressures of today’s diesel fuel systems mean they are extremely sensitive to any fuel quality problems or contamination. Fuel borne contaminants can come in a number of forms and from a variety of sources, but all will cause your engine, generator and pumps to fail.

The condition of fuel is the key to efficient operation of engines. The introduction of water into fuel stocks through inevitable tank condensation and incoming water vapour encourages the growth of microbes which lead to build up of sludge and separation of water to the tank bottom. These microbes degrade the fuel, causing waxes, resins and floating organisms which inhibit the proper operation of fuel pumps and injection valves, resulting in poor combustion.

Poor combustion leads to loss of power, increased fuel consumption, damage to combustion spaces, metal parts, pistons, inlet and exhaust valves, and other expensive problems.

GE EMD Parts

Turner EPS is a GE Transportation distributor for EMD* Replacement Parts and Components. From our strategically located warehouses in Aberdeen and Stoke-on-Trent, where we stock over £2m of spare parts ranging from; cylinder heads, liners, pistons and complete power-packs to gear trains, crankshafts, pumps and turbo chargers, Turner EPS can support EMD users in the Marine & Stationary sector for their parts and services needs…worldwide.

Diesel Defence Fuel Polishing System

Turner EPS provides a complete range of products and services to help you detect, prevent and eradicate harmful diesel fuel contamination. The best way to prevent expensive damage to your engine is to remove contaminants from your fuel before it gets anywhere near your engine. A Diesel Defence Fuel Polishing System fitted to your diesel tank will constantly re-circulate your fuel through a series of filters and a state of the art coalescer ‘polishing’ it by effectively removing water and solid particulates, ensuring that it remains clean, dry and stays in better condition for longer – ensuring you have power when you need it.

ElectraTherm Green Machine 4000 Series

Turner EPS are distributors for ElectraTherm’s Green Machine 4000 series, a product that produces power from low grade heat using the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and proprietary technology. The Green Machine converts low temperature water flows (between 170°F/77°C and 240°F/116°C) into fuel-free, emission free power. The output range is from 20-65kWe, based on temperatures and flows. The Green Machine has low input requirements for its hot water supply relative to other ORC systems. The machine’s ability to utilize these low temperature water flows allows its implementation in a rapidly expanding a number of distributed heat to power applications. The small footprint, skid-mounted design facilitates ease of installation often where current methodologies for heat to power solutions are not feasible.
