LV Shipping & Transport was established in 1921 in the Netherlands under the name J. Lensveld & Zonen B.V. The family company started with horse and carriage and traded in transport, road building, sand and rubbish skips. The head office is still located in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands.
In 1977 a new ferry trailer department started named Elvex. Shortly after this the first office in the UK was set up in Sheerness. It was operated a branch office to help return the trailers that were being shipped from Holland to the UK. LV Shipping & Transport was formally established in 1986, set up to undertake major oil and petrochemical forwarding contracts in the North Sea. Now 11 offices are strategically located along the East Coast of Scotland and England.
In more recent years, LV Shipping & Transport opened offices in Singapore, USA and Saudi Arabia. AW Plant Services, incorporated in 1982, and has been supplying crane hire services from it’s Great Yarmouth base throughout East Anglia for the last 30 years. The company has been at it’s Eurocentre base since August 1989, where it has a large premises for storage and the operation of it’s crane fleet, and also that of it’s sister Haulage company Associated Master Porters and Stevedores (A.M.P.S).

Phoenix Weights Ltd is Scotland’s largest hirer of steel calibrated test weights and cradles. A family run business based in Aberdeen, established in 2002.
Our core business is the hire of calibrated and certified steel test weights and test cradles to organisations that carry out proof load or F96 tests of lifting plant and equipment. Our weights and cradles can be used to carry out proof load tests on bespoke manufactured items prior to their use.
Phoenix Weights Ltd are a preferred supplier for many companies in the North Sea offshore industry, with many of our fleet being used to test a wide range of equipment and structures on land, on drilling rigs, production platforms and oil industry support ships.
The weights and cradles are also used in a subsea environment being placed on the seabed and used as a DMA clump weight for various pulling operations.
