Matthew Shriner of Parma, Idaho, has been running his own business, Mitts for Your Ears, for over a year now.  At age 14, he is making a difference in the world with profits from his business. He supports the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games and has recently given a generous donation to the Salvation Army.

As if rising energy costs wasn't enough, the legendary Farmer's Almanac is predicting an extremely cold winter season this year. It's time to prepare!
 
Below average temperatures are predicted for more than ⅔ of the country. There will be few days with temperatures above normal, according to the almanac.

Designstorm" (designstorm.org) has recently received a patent

for the ultimate snow and street luge. Its called the Snowscream and is an

awesome snow and street luge with ability to run slalom courses on

intermediate rated slopes. The Snowscream is completely ski area

compatible. It loads and unloads itself from the chairlift without any

lifting and has an emergency brake to stop it if the rider falls off. It

has ski and snowboard performance on the snow and with the attachment of

wheels to the runners is an incredibly agile street luge. The Snowcream

received an award at the prestigious Dupont Ispo Brand New competition and

is on the market as a retail product and as a product license. This
