Camlock's flexible cable strap lock has been specially developed to protect gaming machines against unauthorised access and is already proving a popular choice with operators who appreciate its discreet, unobtrusive design. Leisure World UK Ltd is a large, well known operator that is now using the flexible cable strap lock on all its 100 sites across the country. Graham Waddington from Leisure World says: "We were looking to boost the security protection on our gaming machines and did not want to use the large, ugly steel bars that are unattractive to look at. We chose the flexible cable strap lock because they are slim and understated yet provide increased levels of security protection." Martin Savage from operator GameGrid Ltd says: "We really like the discrete, effective security the flexible cable strap lock gives us. Our business is in the travel terminus sector and we're using it at our sites at Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports. And, as we're now expanding into motorway services areas, we're currently testing the lock in these locations prior to rolling it out across all our business sites." Unobtrusive yet incredibly strong, the cable strap lock boasts an impressive minimum breaking force of 2.5 tonnes and uses an industrial strength heavy-duty cable with carbon steel end terminals for maximum resistance to attack. Its steel cable is a 7 x 19 multi-strand type, wrapped in a protective PVC coating to protect the machine cabinet from damage. Easily retrofitted to the majority of gaming machines, the lock is secured by four recessed high tensile steel mounting bolts, has a robust zinc alloy die-cast lock housing and two steel internal reinforcing plates. Most security straps currently in widespread use consist of a rigid metal bar bolted to the bottom portion of the gaming machine and secured by a padlock. These are usually quite chunky in appearance, unattractive to look at and in most cases do not protect the vulnerable top front-opening door of the machine cabinet. Camlock's flexible cable strap lock has been specifically designed to secure the top front-opening door of the cabinet. To do this one end of the cable is bolted to the side of the cabinet, the other passes relatively unobtrusively across the front-opening door and slides into the lock housing on the opposite side of the machine. An additional benefit of this housing is that it can accept adapted versions from many of the wide range of insert locks also produced by Camlock Systems. This means the lock can be changed if required, for example if the machine is moved to a different location, and many of the insert locks can also be configured to be compatible with other Camlock products that the customer may use such as existing locks on machine doors. This then allows all locks to be operated by a single key. Many operators within the gaming industry have already discovered these features for themselves and are choosing to provide increased levels of security protection for their machines with the new lock.
