27 October 2008 Novomatic moving mountains to create strong presence at 2009 International Gaming Expo.
For a company as large and multi-faceted as Novomatic, London’s International Gaming Expo, incorporating ICE, presents challenges on many fronts; in terms of logistics, personnel, equipment and of course the exhibits that each year demonstrate the company’s devotion to development and innovation in gaming.
The 2009 International Gaming Expo presents Novomatic with the challenge of making the best even better. When the Novo TouchBet Live-Roulette was launched it set the standard for electronic multi-player games based on traditional live gaming. Development and innovation enhanced and expanded the product stream but the creative ethos of Novomatic constantly demands more.
At January’s Earls Court expo, Novomatic will proudly present the new functionality and concepts that are made possible by the groundbreaking Novo Unity II platform. Details are being kept under wraps until the show opens its doors but it is certain that aficionados of multi-player games, operators and their guests alike, will see a whole new arena of gaming possibilities from Novomatic. Making the best better is never anything less than a huge challenge, equivalent to moving mountains, but Novomatic’s engineers have combined gaming knowledge and creativity with engineering excellence in order to succeed in moving the multi-player genre that their company first created even further ahead.
Novomatic will also present in London new games in the highly successful Coolfire II range, along with exciting new cabinet initiatives guaranteed to excite casino guests around Europe and far beyond.
Bringing these new products to London requires a logistical effort worthy of an army on the move. Novomatic will use seven trucks to tranship the products and equipment from Austria to the UK. The fleet will also carry a staggering five tons of catering supplies and equipment in order to provide Novomatic’s traditional booth hospitality and there are also in excess of 200 staff whose transport and lodging requirements must be effectively co-ordinated.
Jens Halle, Managing Director of Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH, noted: “As we have always stated, ICE in London is the biggest and most important exhibition that we attend each year. The effort required to present our products to our customers is immense but it is a vital part of our commercial strategy each year. The benefits of being able to meet with our customers one-on-one are huge and we take great pride in presenting our new products each year at ICE.”
24 October 2008 The New EGT's Office and Factory Building Grand Opening
It is impossible to turn the calendar page of September 29th , 2008, without mentioning an event, outlining the new style and attraction reference model. Guests, partners and close friends became spectators of the Grand Opening of the new office and factory building of Euro Games Technology. The factory, green area , underground parking lot, restaurant and basketball field are located on a land plot of total area of 10 000 sq.m. Even a top-class gym and SPA center has been provided for wellness, comfort and relax of EGT employees. And all that comes from the idea of well-to-do company, European quality and happy employees - an idea, implemented to its last detail. A Bulgarian proverb says: “Joy is double, if shared with a friend” Following these wise words, the guests, came to the event were over 500. The hosts welcomed the guests with Champaign and strawberries with cream.
According to old Bulgarian tradition, a ceremony of Water Blessing was carried out. On the background of Many Years Liturgy, the EGT’s CEO Mr. Vladimir Dokov cut the tape, and fountains of fire with a flight of white doves flew up to the sky, thus symbolizing the company's future.
The evening party started with a slight tornado of euphoria. A rich and versatile show program made the event unforgettable. Dragomir Draganov, the famous Bulgarian actor, was the master of the ceremonies of the show. He demonstrated his top-class style, as usually. The Strings Quartet took a lot of emotion out of the strings of their violins, the virtuosic performance of Chinari Folklore Band astonished the guests with wonderful traditional Bulgarian music in modern cover version and with their attractive costumes, and "O Sole Mio”, performed by opera tenor Tommy Popmarkov invoked a real explosion of ovations in the heat of the night! Not just fireworks, but real show of light, colors and music was the special gift for the guests. But the spectacular fire show was not the culmination, but just an overture, and Maria Ilieva, the famous pop-star rose on the stage! Her brilliant smile and divine voice filled in the souls of the public with tenderness like a gentle waft of angel's wing. The usual protocol part of each party, catering and drinks, were a real masterpiece, provided by Red Devil Catering. And the evergreen oldies, performed by Horizon Band, appeared to be an introduction to the second part of the party- a private party in Sinatra Piano Bar.
So, the tape was cut, the cake was cut, and a splendid event- the Grand Opening of new EGT Factory will remain in hearts and souls of all clients, partners and friends of the company, who were there!

22 October 2008 A revolution for casino card games
Although in the last ten years there has been talk of resurgence in live table gaming, slots departments continue to claim the lion’s share of casino profits around the globe. The fundamental reason is that the table games are fixed in duration and have fixed labour costs. As the cost of labour has increased, table departments have needed to increase minimum stakes to remain profitable. Higher minimums have not encouraged the development of new players and have excluded lower income groups, thus narrowing the market. Slots departments on the other hand have had the freedom to greatly reduce game duration, providing more gambling decisions per session for the same risk of stake. In doing this they have maintained low barriers-toentry for new players and have assured access to a far greater market. On top of that, increased automation has seen labour costs reduce, freeing budgets for marketing and buying new more innovative games. A progressive spiral of success. So is that it for tables then… a slow death with the last rattle of the dice? Absolutely not! Enter “AccuPLAY™ Parallel Deal”, a new patented technology that changes the unchangeable! The AccuPLAY™
Parallel Deal Blackjack system consists of two unique and patented elements. Firstly, the Parallel Deal method of playing Black Jack enables multiple players to play simultaneously as one-againstthe- dealer at virtually the same speed. Secondly there is the AccuPLAY™ table with integral electronics that enhance security and allow such a unique game to be played. With its mix of real card action and electronic speed, AccuPLAY™ will appeal to both old school and new generation players. Each player seating position is equipped with its own credit meter and touch screen player interface. Quick and simple to use, the system increases player decisions per hour, making your table games more engaging for customers. Standard house cards are used in a normal card shoe but are drawn across a reader (as fast as you like) and are shown on screens in front of the players. So why real cards? Well there are two main reasons why players prefer real cards: tradition and trust. As for the touch screens they display credit, purchased from the dealer with cash or chips and according to the rules, player options to buy-in, take a card, split, double, stand etc and all by touching the screen. Once grasped, the Parallel Deal concept becomes obvious to the point of embarrassment that you didn’t think of it first yourself! However without the support of an electronic system it has been outside the realms of possibility. Briefly, the system recognizes cards coming out of the shoe and creates virtual cards which are shown on player control screens with credit meters at the table, at remote terminals or potentially over the Internet on home PCs or mobile devices.
