07 September 2007 7/09/07 - Organisers launch biggest campaign for record-breaking ICE
Organisers of the 2008 ICE Show (London, 22-24 January) have unveiled details of the biggest visitor marketing campaign ever undertaken in the exhibition’s 16-year history.
‘It’s all in the game’ is the strapline adopted by ICE organisers, as the mammoth international event aims to register its seventh consecutive year of visitor growth and break the 2007 record of 110 represented countries.
Print advertisements, set against the silhouette of a London skyline, together with direct marketing, viral campaigns and extensive media relations activities promoting ICE 2008 as the world’s premier gambling and gaming event, will appear in at least 26 industry media channels. Joint promotion of ICE and its co-located soft gaming and electronic leisure show, ATEI, will also be placed in a number of publications that cover dual hard and soft gaming markets.
ICEi, the dedicated remote gaming section of the London event, will be supported by a targeted visitor campaign comprising both above and below the line activities in specialist business-to-business media.
Charlotte Skinner, Marketing Manager responsible for the campaign, explained: “ICE is one of the most successful and respected fora for the international gaming industry. The size of the 2008 campaign is designed to reinforce the show’s international standing, to exploit the potential of new gaming territories and to bring the maximum number of serious buyers and influencers to London in January”
ICE takes place at London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre across 22-24 January, 2008.
07 September 2007 7/09/07 - Visitors targeted for ICEi 2008
ICEi is aiming to consolidate its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing gaming exhibitions, with the launch of a dedicated multi-media visitor marketing campaign which goes live in October. The programme comprises promotion via print and electronic b2b media as well as various viral marketing initiatives.
The exhibition, which grew from 898sqm in 2006 to 1,480sqm in 2007 – a 65 per cent increase – is set to grow once again in 2008 following unprecedented demand for stand space.
Charlotte Skinner, Marketing Manager responsible for ICEi, explained: “The research we’ve undertaken with both exhibitors and visitors confirms that ICEi is widely regarded as the world’s premier remote gaming event.” She continued: “Our strapline, ‘It’s all about the business’ reflects the phenomenal growth of the show, the unsurpassed interest demonstrated by both exhibitors and visitors and the unparalleled commercial and networking opportunities that it generates.”

05 September 2007 5/9/07 - Largest installation of TouchBetTM in the UK
Newcastle’s Aspers Casino at the Gate has been open for almost two years and in that time developed the range of products on offer to their customers constantly. Following a critical review of their existing electronic product offering and taking account of the changes in legislation due to affect the industry in September, Aspers called upon TCSJOHNHUXLEY to add more Novo TouchBetTM Roulette Terminals, making this the largest installation of TouchBetTM in the UK.
General Manager Paul Sculpher, who has extensive experience of the product having been involved with the original launch of TouchBetTM Roulette at the Grosvenor Casino in Victoria, comments “We needed to prepare for the changes in legislation and carried out careful evaluation of our electronic Roulette product base here at Aspers Newcastle. Having tried other products we had no hesitation in asking TCSJOHNHUXLEY to install a further 45 TouchBetTM terminals to compliment the 32 terminals we already had installed”. “In our experience, no other product matched the appeal and reliability of the Novomatic product.” Paul continues, “The range of 10 podium terminals and 67 standard terminals provides a choice of minimum stake, from 10p to £5. We have watched the appeal of Novo TouchBetTM Roulette grow year on year and we are confident that we have made the right choice of machine and supplier.”
