04 October 2007 4-10-07 - ICE Online Registration Goes Live!
The online ticket registration facility and visa application helper for ATEI, ICE and ICEi (Earls Court, London, UK, 22-24 January 2008) has gone live. Industry buyers preparing to attend the co-located, double award winning, business-to-business events, which attracted over 25,000 visitors from 117 nations in 2007, can do so by completing the relevant registration form at atei-exhibition.com, ice-exhibition.com or icei-exhibition.com.
When visitors register, the online visa helper will automatically detect if they are from one of the close to 100 nations that require a visa to enter the UK. A personalised letter of invitation to the London Show from the organisers will be instantly generated, which can be used in support of a visa application.
Expanding on the service, Charlotte Skinner, Marketing Manager at Clarion Gaming, said: 'In 2007, up to 20 per cent of the total number of international visitors who made the journey to London required a visa. We recognise the huge effort that our customers make to attend what is the most international expo of its kind in the world. Our service is designed to fast track the visa process as far as is possible.'
The websites also serve as a comprehensive reference point for all show attendees with content comprising updated exhibitor listings and floor plans, an archive of show specific news releases, venue information and a list of 24 recommended central London hotels with negotiated discounts of up to 30 per cent off quoted room rates.

03 October 2007 3/10/07 - 650 international exhibits added to Gauselmann Collection
Espelkamp. In the mid-1960s, Jean-Claude Baudot had compiled a collection of historic coin-operated machines that was unique in France. From 1981 to 2004, parts of the collection were shown at much noticed exhibitions in Paris, Nice, Mont-real, and Las Vegas.
The approximately 650 exhibits include slot-machines, enter-tainment and vending machines, but also old wheels of fortune, lottery games, bagatelle tables, and pinball machines. However, the focus of the Baudot collection was the historic development of French and American gaming machines. The slot-machines of the American manufacturer 'Caille' are espe-cially valuable. Around 1900 'Caille' was one of the most im-portant slot-machine manufacturers in the USA, next to 'Mills'.
Jean-Claude Baudot, a passionate collector through and through, who dearly loves every single piece he collected, de-cided to sell his collection some months ago because of his age. This became fast known among the collectors, and rapidly bids were made for acquiring parts of the collection. However, Baudot harbored the wish to sell the collection in total, in order to secure its long-term survival.
'After first talks between Jean-Claude Baudot and us, we fast developed mutual trust,' explains Armin Gauselmann, 'which grew even stronger, after Jean-Claude Baudot had visited our corporate museum and the warehouse facilities in person. The manager of Sammlung Gauselmann (the Gauselmann Collection), Monika Kokoska, went to Southern France to get a personal impression of the outstanding quality of the collection. Our family agreed very fast to acquire this important collection and thus to increase the international importance of our own collection considerably. In the medium term we intend to real-ize a second permanent exhibition in Berlin, next to the perma-nent exhibition at the company headquarters in Espelkamp.' Today, the Sammlung Gauselmann (Gauselmann Collection) has more than 1,800 exhibits including a multitude of rare unique pieces, and is one of the biggest collections of its kind in the world!
28 September 2007 28/9/2007 - From Berlin to the Balearic Islands - Top entertainment with Lejano Oeste
One year after its introduction on the market, BALLY WULFF's video ma-chine remains the highlight in bars and arcades throughout Spain
Berlin, 25 September 2007 - Tourists spending their holidays in Spanish holi-day resorts around the Mediterranean will undoubtedly be attracted by one specific product »made in Germany« when visiting the many bars and pubs: Lejano Oeste Video, the most successful video machine on the Spanish market so far, developed and manufactured by BALLY WULFF Entertainment in Berlin. The novelty from Germany, combining digital video game and mechanical reel game, has conquered the Iberian peninsula by storm - and also the Balearic Islands.
This gaming system with 3D graphics and animated gaming sequences from the Wild West not only inspires local players on the holiday island of Majorca but also tourists from Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands. »Lejano Oeste is the premium class product of our arcade,« comments Carmen Lopez, supervisor of the »Ralley« arcade, at Avenida Punta Grossa in Cala Ferrera, a small holiday resort on Majorca's east coast. Operator Jefe Francisco, who runs another arcade in Campos, has the licence for 52 amusement machines in Cala Ferrera - 9 of which are payout machines. The operator attaches great impor-tance to quality in the coin-op business. Lejano Oeste Video is the only ma-chine that meets these high demands and not without reason is it the only video machine in the arcade.
Maybe it's because of the still very new gaming legislation for video machines in the province of Baleares, but Tim Wittenbecher, authorized signatory and international sales manager for BALLY WULFF Entertainment, knows another strong argument: »Many manufacturers are struggling with technical problems and their products have not been very convincing.« BALLY WULFF Entertainment maintains high standards with regard to quality assurance and also acts quickly and progressively in the case of queries. Right from the start the Berlin-based company was very convincing with this philosophy and the state-of-the-art technology related with it.
»Many manufacturers have tried to copy our video machines, above all Lejano Oeste Video,« explains Tim Wittenbecher. One look into Spain's bars, pubs and arcades proves: »This was all in vain and without any lasting success.« BALLY WULFF's machines will therefore be available for German tourists in the future in holiday resorts throughout Spain. »Of course I'm happy when my friends and workmates tell me that they have discovered our machines during their holiday in Spain,« says Tim Wittenbecher. »This proves that we are on the right track with our new AWPs for the Spanish market.«
27 September 2007 27/09/07 - Leading the way in Latin America
Money Controls is sending a strong message to casino operators and slot manufacturers judging by its heavyweight presence at the SAGSE exhibition in Buenos Aires from 3rd to 5th October (Stand G14). For in addition to Ron Rollins, Vice President Global Gaming, and Aquiles Mila de la Roca, Director of Sales for the Latin America region, Money Controls' Chief Executive, Mike Innes, will also be flying in from the UK.
Ron Rollins explained the company's approach to SAGSE: 'Last year we identified Latin America as a key strategic market, particularly for Ardac Elite, our bill and ticket acceptor that was already leading the way in Europe. And so, this year, we have strengthened our sales and technical support for the region with the opening of new offices in Miami and Buenos Aires; these are in addition to existing our Brazilian sales office, and our distribution partnership with Gaming & Technology Peru SA. Our high-profile presence at SAGSE is further evidence of our intentions in Latin America.'
The company is also a silver sponsor of the two-day ey!07 series of conferences that Yogonet is organizing within the event, with Mike Innes taking part in the keynote session, 'Validators: your ideal partner when handling money' at 11.45 am on October 4th.
This session, which also features other industry luminaries, will cover various aspects of bill validation, including technology, bill security and the needs of casino operators. It promises to shed light on current developments and will consider future trends in payment systems.
Ron Rollins summed up his hopes for SAGSE2007: 'We want to meet as many existing and potential customers as possible at the show. It's an opportunity for us to show them how Money Controls leads the way in money-handling solutions and, with our strengthened presence, how we are now leading the way in local product support.'
