09 October 2007 9/10/07 - Ardac Elite excels in European Central Bank tests
Money Controls' Ardac Elite bill and ticket acceptor has achieved the best possible results in tests undertaken by the European Central Bank (ECB), proving once again that it is leading the way in bill validation and fraud rejection.
The tests, conducted in August at the ECB's test facility, were in two parts: a counterfeit test, in which Ardac Elite detected every single counterfeit; and a recognition test, in which Ardac Elite accepted every genuine note, regardless of its condition. These results put Ardac Elite ahead of the equivalent bill acceptors from Money Controls' major competitors.
Erik van der Weide, whose team is responsible for creating the banknote data tables for Ardac Elite, was pleased but not surprised by the test results: 'Ardac Elite's exceptional performance is due to a combination of advanced technology, with over 200,000 data points recorded for each note inserted, and the experience and expertise of my team,' he explained.
'With Ardac Elite EP, our hand-held support tool, the note tables can be uploaded to an Ardac Elite in a matter of seconds. What's more, updated note tables, and firmware, can be downloaded from our website and uploaded to an Ardac Elite in its host machine,' concluded Erik.
The ECB tests follow on from a series of Ardac Elite trials conducted and independently monitored by casino operators worldwide. These trials also confirmed that Ardac Elite leads the way in bill validation and fraud rejection.
08 October 2007 8/10/07 - PHOTO PLAY successfully follows the new trend!
PHOTO PLAY, the German market leader in the touch-screen terminal sector, anticipates a rapid increase of their members in 2007.
Lenzing, 2007. 15 million Germans are already playing casual games on the Internet. This makes casual games more than twice as popular among Germans as console games. This fact was announced during a press conference at this year's Games Convention.
PHOTO PLAY exactly counts on this trend with regard to its classical fun or party games 'Kick the Fish' and 'Bavarian Quarters' - games that are easy to operate and don't require any complex knowledge of games. Thus, entirely new target groups can be addressed by the touch-screen industry. 'Middle-aged women are getting particularly interested in these games', explains Norbert Langer, authorised officer and head of funworld's Marketing & Sales department. 'Almost half of all members registered in the system are female', says Langer, who is quite pleased about this fact. The most recent developments of PHOTO PLAY include enormous growth rates in this area, thus making funworld's future expectations quite optimistic: 'Given our new game genres we anticipate a giant increase in the number of PHOTO PLAY members this year. We are especially glad about the increasing number of older-generation members. Our oldest gamer is 80 years old and an enthusiastic 'Kick the Fish' gamer', says Josef Öhlinger, CEO of funworld ag.
Older gamers play PHOTO PLAY games in order to keep themselves mentally fit, to train their memory as well as to maintain and improve their reaction skills. 'But also the younger target group is open to this trend, with entertainment and relaxation being the key motivators', says Norbert Langer.
Another remarkable result of the field test prior to the introduction of the PHOTO PLAY System 2008: More than 60 percent of the women preferably play games in order to relax and to relieve stress, whereas only 42% of the men rated this factor as 'very important', says Langer.
08 October 2007 8/10/07 - Comestero Group pushes the boundaries of money handling
There are eager expectations on the next edition of Enada Rome, which will be held from 11 to 14 October in the Italian capital's new leading edge expo centre. This is a key event for the Italian Gaming Industry, in which Comestero Group aims to be a key protagonist: it will participate with a 120 square metre stand (Pav. 3 n° 131), and will showcase a unique range of payment system solutions which promise to make an impact, by pushing the boundaries of money handling.
Great expectations rely in particular on the new coin to note and note to coin change machines 2Change and 4Change. Further to the performances featured by all traditional change machines, Comestero Group's new series provides a wide selection of both coin and banknote change options, to satisfy the highest change requirements. Here safety performances are impeccable. Hoppers and note dispensers are protected by an excellent locking system, whereas the better improved anti-theft device Locky system grants total protection for both the change machine and the premises where it is installed. On show will be also the new Changeuro Easy Plus with discriminator, a unique hopper which allows to work simultaneously with up to three different types of coins.
An other innovation is GSM-GEST, the telemetry and remote control system for Comestero Group change machines. Especially devised to simplify the daily routines of all gaming operators, GSM-GEST ensures a constant control of the change machine via mobile phone, avoiding expensive interventions on site. It is now available with new functions. The cutting-edge is the possibility to set privileges according to the type of user - manager or operator - and up to eight different users. The management software is completely free of charge and will be shown as a preview in a special area of Comestero Group stand.
Interesting novelties enrich also the payment systems range, with two different solutions especially devised for newslots: the smart coin sorter Leonardo with Stop and the new Duo Hopper Suzo, their best value being the possibility to manage three different types of coins with a reduced equipment. Whereas all coin sorters in the market can only sort and drive coins to a certain destination, Leonardo with Stop can even discriminate in total autonomy one type of coin (i.e. 50c) and reject it, when needed. Besides, Duo Hopper is the ideal solution to dispense two different types of coin at the same time (i.e. 1€ and 2€) and form a winning combination together with a Cube Hopper dispensing 50c.
05 October 2007 5/10/07 - Comma6A solutions highlighted at Enada Rome
Following the success of its debut at ProGameShow3 in Bologna, Money Controls' newly incorporated Italian subsidiary is a major exhibitor at Enada Rome 2007 from 11th to 14th October. This is further evidence of the company's growing presence in the Italian gaming and amusement markets, and another opportunity to show that they are leading the way in money-handling solutions.
Stephan Rosseneu, Western European Sales Manager, based in the company's Bergamo office, is co-ordinating Money Controls' participation at Enada and is keen to stress the company's local credentials: 'We have operated in Italy for over 20 years via our distributor, Maggi Coniature, and are already recognised for our innovative products and solutions. We now have our own office and warehouse here, enabling us to deliver the best possible customer response, with local availability of equipment. In addition, our technical capability has been strengthened with the appointment of Davide Spada, our new sales engineer, who has extensive technical knowledge and experience of the coin slot market.
'As well as our enhanced sales and technical support in Italy, we also have products developed specifically for the Italian market. And it is our Comma6A solutions to OEMs, operators, providers and distributors that are our main focus at Enada, with the highlight being our Combi Hopper system.' Developed to meet the requirements of the Italian AWP market, the Combi Hopper system features a low float, high security and fast payout of €2, €1 and €50c coins from just two hoppers, with no hunting for coins. Launched two years ago, it has already been integrated into machines by major software houses in Italy. It is now available with a high-capacity bowl, making it the ideal solution for handling the increased jackpots in Italy.
Money Controls' stand (024, Pad 3) features the company's full range of hoppers for the Italian market. Also on display are PayLink, their USB integration module, the Sr5i and SR3 coin acceptors, and the Ardac Elite and Lumina bill validators, for the casino and amusement markets, respectively. Stephan hopes that casino operators and slot managers will take the opportunity to see Ardac Elite in action: 'Casinos in several countries, including Italy, have retrofitted Ardac Elite and, as a result, are enjoying increased slot revenues, as well as extending the life of their machines. We can retrofit Ardac Elite to virtually any machine, in any casino; if you visit our stand, you'll see how quick and easy retrofitting is.' Stephan concluded: 'With products such as the Combi Hopper and Ardac Elite, Money Controls leads the way in Italy and elsewhere. Whether you're an operator or OEM, please call in at our stand; I will be delighted to discuss your requirements and the solutions we have to offer.
