Handheld Keyboard Series
NSI has completed its new range of industrial handheld keyboards. This serie of six membrane keyboards are available with or without pointing device.
The membrane is from a hardened polyester, resistant to liquids, oils, most acids and to scratches.
All versions are sealed IP65 and available as panel mount version or housed in a very stylish and robust ABS housing. Ideal for applications requiring only a limited number of key functions with fast and comfortable key access.
The keyboards with pointing device have 26 keys and an integrated trackball or joystick.
Types KBMT26x have an integrated 38mm laser optical trackball with a removable ball; the trackball optical lenses are accessible from the front and can easily be cleaned without dismantling the complete unit.
Types KBTS26x have an integrated solid state Hall effect joystick which we call a “Thumbstick” (this name describes its functionality better).
The keyboards have numeric and function keys; the control keys are available via “Fn” key mapping.
The keyboards without pointer, types KBM36x, have 36 keys which enable all major functions of a large MF keyboard in a small outline. Function keys F1 to F16 and complete upper and lower case alphabet are available. Distinct and easy recognition of the different functions due to three different legend colours corresponding with the mode-keys: black for UNSHIFT; red for SHIFT and green for ALPHA mode which is a toggle function indicated by a seperate green LED.
All versions have a PS/2 or USB output connection.

Duralight LED Backlit Keyboard & Trackball
NSI presents a 106 key backlit “Duralight” keyboard.
The keyboard has a multi-functional layout with separate numerical- and control keys pads and integrates a large 50mm industrial trackball.
The unit uses high brightness white LED's and fibre optics, lighting not just the key legends, but also the key edges, the trackball contour and even possible customer logo's or trademarks.
Using low power LED's warrants for a long life while an external power supply is not necessary; the power from the keyboard port being sufficient. The illumination intensity is easily controlable by two dedicated UP and DOWN keys. This illumination setting is stored at power off. Furtheron it features an intelligent luminosity setting of the “numlock” and “capslock” LEDS depending on ambient light and key brightness setting. The keyboard uses short travel switches with low pressure and positive tactile feedback.
The industry proven 50 mm trackball provides a comfortable and accurate control over the cursor.
The KSML106-LED has an IP65 sealing grade and is available as front panel mount version or as enclosed version and has a PS/2 or USB compatible output both for keyboard and trackball.
Typical applications include naval navigation control, aeronautics controls, studio or theater equipment, … and any other applications in low light environments.

36 key Commander keyboard with 25 mm trackball
NSI presents a keyboard consisting of 36 numeric, function and control keys and an integrated compact 25mm trackball with IP65 sealing grade.
The short travel switches with 2.5N operating force and positive tactile feel provide for fast data entry. The compact but precise, industrial grade trackball warrants for a comfortable and accurate control over the cursor. The total is covered by a hardened polyester overlay which is resistant to liquids, oils, most acids and scratches.
The front panel mounting version has eight M3 mounting studs and a silicone sealing sponge for very easy and adequate fixing and sealing into the users' panel or console. The enclosed version has a very stylish and robust ABS housing.
The keyboard and trackball are directly connectable to PS/2 or USB ports via the shielded cables of 1.6 meter.
Typical applications are navigation control, general machine control, public access terminals, security systems, .. and any applications requiring only a limited number of key functions with easy, fast and comfortable access and control.

S.series Lite - Plastic keypads in disguise!
The S.series Lite is made entirely from an extremely durable plastic. With a simulated matt chrome finish, which is scratch-resistant to ensure long-lasting good looks, it looks like a heavyweight keypad. It is also protected to IP67 against water, oil and dirt ingress, so it remains reliable even when exposed to severe weather.
The S.series Lite offers high levels of design flexibility: many different layouts are possible within the two standard sizes, 12-key telephone or 16-key hexadecimal. Each key can be laser etched with any type of legend - characters, numbers or symbols. They can be illuminated with different coloured LEDs (yellow and blue offered as standard), either around or through the legend. The keys themselves can even be finished in different colours (non-standard and subject to volume). The high-quality illumination means numbers can be keyed easily, even in low-light conditions. Laser etching ensures the marking remains pin-sharp for years.
Both versions of the keypads can be mounted either from the front or rear using the supplied gasket. They connect through an external pin-header connection.
The robust design of the S.series Lite makes it perfect for use indoor or outside, particularly within vending machines, ticket machines, payment terminals, telephones and access control systems.
